Process control workbooks
Interactive workbooks and process control spreadsheets that can be tied to SCADA.
How it works: you pick the processes to cover, such as secondary treatment, digestion, dewatering, tertiary filters or UV disinfection. WSI collects plant information, with an on-site visit if needed, and develops the full package for each process. Each process is quoted as a lump sum.
Great for: new processes and new plants, bringing new hires up to speed, and operators going for promotion.

What we teach
Topics run from the headworks to solids handling, the lab and the control room: activated sludge process control, nutrient removal, secondary clarifiers, anaerobic digestion, centrifuge dewatering, SCADA and instrumentation, reading P&IDs and plant drawings, troubleshooting, operator math, safety and using AI for plant performance. | Indiana, 10 MGD plant | A long-running plant-specific program on activated sludge process control, anaerobic digestion, solids handling, chlorination and dechlorination, and safety. Twelve operators went from few certified to all certified, seven at Class IV, and the team placed 2nd in the state operator competition, winning the process and safety events. We also wrote the plant O&M manual after its last upgrade. |
